Globe Trekker's Megan McCormick skinny dips on Pohnpei

Brandon:
On the TV travel show Globe Trekker, fearless traveler Megan hikes to a beautiful waterfall on the island of Pohnpei in Micronesia. She then removes her clothes and takes a swim below the waterfall.

Megan mentions that on the Island of Yap, it is important for women tourists to respect local customs and keep their thighs covered -- so no shorts.  But it's fine to go topless, as the local women do.

Baseballfan:
What type of sensorship did the prorgram use to cover her bits and pieces : black bars, scrambles, smily faces ?

Thats really really silly that you have to cover your thighs but you can be topless.

“Put together of any number of ill-fitting parts, [modesty] reveals itself in more or less irrational taboos that differ not only with every civilization but often within a civilization itself. Like most taboos, they defy logic” (Bernard Rudofsky, The Unfashionable Human Body, pp. 25-26).

Yeah, when you look at in from an objective standpoint, it's rather ridiculous.

She saucily hung her straw hat over the camera lens while she undressed. Then there was a quick edit, and she was in the water, with her back facing the camera. The lower half of her body was underwater.

It's no more silly than being able to expose thighs but having to cover breasts.

Some of the men wore normal shorts. Others wore things more like loincloths.

The only island in Micronesia I've been to is Guam, and everyone there wore normal American clothing or uniforms.

The whole thing is silly and irrational.
