New Nudist Group for USI

A new nudist group called the Kurt Barthel Society is holding its first ever meeting on March 30th at 7:00PM.  This group is open only to anyone who is willing to approach non-sexual social nudity with a clean mind (with that, I trust everyone qualifies here).  This meeting is on the USI campus and is open only to current and future University of Southern Indiana students.  It will be in UC 205 and won\'t last too long.
We may be allowing membership from outside USI, but for now that\'s not quite finalized.

I have an update.  We aren\'t allowed to hold our first meeting in the nude.  The university representative handling the formation of the organization has said there might be legal complications and they cannot contact the university\'s legal counsel until after Thursday, the day of our meeting.

Hopefully, we will be able to hold our future meetings in the nude.

EDIT:  I apparently cannot display my email or IM here, as I just found out today (4.1.06).

Also, our meeting went well, although I received a bit of a bombshell on Friday (3.31.06).  Apparently we have a state law working against us as far as having meetings nude.  I have received some feedback on CFF, saying the law is too broad, which I agree with.

It\'s Indiana, actually.  They quoted a state law that made it illegal to be nude in school.

Of course, everyone who lives on campus breaks the law when they shower, and I break the law every night when I go to bed. (sleeping naked and all )

We have three meetings left in the school year.  Each of them is Thursday in UC 214 at 7PM.  We\'d love to have you.

An update on the group.

Firstly, I would like to thank those that have supported me through this effort, even if all you did was express interest through this forum.

Officially, the university\'s 90-day set-up period ends May 2nd, and unless I can fill out a renewal application, complete with faculty advisor--who hasn\'t been secured yet--as well as other things we haven\'t had a chance to get for the club, the university can\'t make our club official.

Now to the good news.

It will be back in Fall 2006 under a new name.  I will talk to the university and get another application in for another 90-day trial period for a group called NudeUSI.  NudeUSI is basically the Kurt Barthel Society by another name.  I\'ll try to get an orientation meeting scheduled within the first two or three weeks of the semester.  Hopefully, NudeUSI will have better luck with its formation than KBS.

That being said, the email I\'m linked to will change to reflect the new club sometime over the summer.
