My girlfriend Jennifer and I watched the AVP's volleyball tournament here in Huntington Beach over
the weekend, and afterwards we played some, was fun, we both love it. Only thing is we always have
to wear stuff at the beach, and it makes us mad. To make matters worse, we discovered the first
signs of a tan-line, so we once again feel like we're betraying our nudie lifestyle. After we lamented
for hours on Monday, Jennifer's mom finally had it, and she suggested we go and get some self-tanning
lotion, and we did ("Nivea Sun-Kissed Firming Moisturizer, With Soft Gradual Tanner") and rubbed it
into our lower midsection  Roll Eyes, and I'm telling you, it works  . Yeppie for self-tanner; you go to the
beach here wearing those stupid beach pantalones, and later you still look like a real nudie  Cheesy! So I
recommend this stuff, and then volleyball is even more fun! Aaron

P.S.:  I first posted this piece of advice in the sports thread (that's why there are those references to
volleyball), but I think it might be of interest to the gnp (general nudie public), thank you. Aaron

For me, having a tan line doesn't mean you're not a nudist.
There are plenty of situations (like the one you described) where it is necessary to wear clothes or at least something.
Nudism to me is a state of mind, and not about tan lines.
That is the reason I wouldn't use any tanning lotion. I just don't see the point artificially enhancing my skin colour.
If other people have a problem with me having tan lines, well, that's then indeed their problem, not mine.
I'm me, with or without tan lines. If I have them, so be it, I'm still me.
And I love being a nudist.

I think bikini tan lines look rather sexy on a woman.

But tan lines on a guy generally look nerdy, in my opinion. When I wear shorts, I put SPF45 right where my shorts end, then a band of SPF30 an inch below that, and SPF15 an inch below that, all the way down to just above my socks, where I do the opposite.  When I'm sunbathing nude, I use SPF45 on my already-tanned areas.  That avoids distinct tan lines.

I have some self-tanning lotion, but I have never got around to using it.

i think if you feel that having tan lines, or wearing swimwear on a textile beach, or indeed anything else, is a "betrayal" of your nudist lifestyle, you really need to sort your head out and stop taking your life so seriously.

i'm currently sporting tan lines, the result of sunning in the park the other day.  i could've sunbathed nude on my balcony instead, but i decided the park was a nicer place to go as i could be with my friends, have some greenery around me and space to move.

honestly Aaron, is everything you and your girlfriend do and talk and think about just done so you can tell all of us how much of a "nudie" you are?  sometimes i wonder if half your posts aren't made here just so you can tell us about things you are naked when you do them...

I'm against tan lines but there isn't always the time and place to do it. Like yesterday I was out the front of the house and had to wear shorts while I did some tidying up which got me a nice line between where I'd picked up some sun and hadn't. But I don't think that there's anything about getting tan lines that's too big a deal. I'm off to Egypt soon where nudity is not allowed at all but I'm still looking forward to it!

That will probably happen in about 5 minutes in Egypt!

Congratulations on your 2000th post, btw.

good advice! i hate when that happens!

tan lines are horrible... i usually try to avoid the sun when i can't take off my clothes... for that very reason, but thanks for the good advice... that could come in handy.
