Suggestions?

Hey!
Well, I went for a naturist indoor swim thingy today and although I don\'t talk much (not confident with the norwegian) in the sauna we talked about how much the youth group sucks (we were at the one for everyone not the youth group swim) becuase only like 30+ year olds go, and it is on a tuesday from 8pm to 10pm... Saturdays it\'s for everyone and there are occassionally a few kids there. Anyways, we were talking about starting a new one, and one asked me if i\'d be interested in running it.. I still have the decision to make, but we then we need more younger generation youths aka teenagers... One stopped going because her teacher was also there and she was afraid she would tell her friends etc. so now i\'m the only teen. I\'m thinking of accepting if we actually go through with it, and just like advertise on the noticeboard on the nude beach as there are way more ppl in the summer taht don\'t go to the indoor swims (frankly i think many don\'t know about them-poor advertising)... But i don\'t know if it will be enough AND i will be away for some of the summer i think... Does anyone have any suggestions?
Oh and GO YNAI- now just in 1 week, i\'ve become a proper active naturist =)=)=)

Yah i have one.
If ynai is for promoting naturism and naturist youth in particular, then everyone on here, mostly the brass but everyone should write letters and help you do this.

to the naturist organization in norway saying who we are, what we are, what were about and that our representative (YOU) wants to get a group going for kids and teens and that we are asking for their help and support!  thats what. i mean if the brass does it (Rob and everyone) and we do it, they gotta listen. If they dont then we make sure INF knows bout it.

Yeah but the thing is it\'s just thought at the moment between some of us naturists, and we already have a youth group (althoug its crap) at the moment. I mean suggestions at finding teenagers etc. cuz there arent many in the organisation as it is... I really appreciate your suggestion but its not so serious at the moment and i have only started going to swims frequently from today and will again and again...

                   You could try another track, instead of trying to start a new youth group which if anything will probably just divide those few younger naturists in your area, why not try and get yourself and other supporters in your area into a position to run the existing youth group? It is worth a try.

Hey, two more answers, i don\'t mean to be negative, it\'s my fault for being to unclear on the situation...
to Jeep: The youth group is run completely separately and i\'m afraid that couldn\'t happen besides we are still just on the edge of an idea and nothing will happen until quite a while later... Instead, what I believe would happen would be me working with others, organising things and suggesting things, and keeping people informed (ahh just thinking about it sounds fun!)But until the summer, little can be done, because my future here is so insecure as my Dad now lives in Florida and Mum in England.. I\'m still here because of school. I think the only way things may work is by more youths etc... But i don\'t know too much about the situation! agh it\'s really making me think, and i think i just have to wait... But I will take that into consideration when time passes, maybe even suggest it to the main guy who suggested me =)

To Rob: I don\'t really know much more details (if any), nor understand what ynai can do.. I guess I just posted this out of stupidity because it\'s a tough situation to tackle. And I\'m not such an active naturist (or so they think, until last week i became more active, like going to swims and everything)so they don\'t really knw me too well, and ya =P sorry to waste ur time  :-

An email I received after I asked this guy to mail me:

Hi. Yes, it was you I was talking to. Getting enough younger youngsters is certainly a difficult task, but there are a couple other young teens around your age and also a couple who are a few years younger again. There will always be few people your age among Norwegian naturists, but I also have the idea that if there are some activities that fit, plus the knowledge that there aren\'t only 50-60 year-olds around, then it will be more easy to get more people. I believe some more people around your age may show up at Askim, so maybe we will try and help to get in touch with each other there.

Askim is a large swimming pool where we have organised and booked to go in March.

I also believe that the girl who stopped coming because her teacher was there should not think this way. I believe that her teacher would be mature enough and understanding, and not tell any of her friends. Is there no possible way to change her mind? I apologise for not talking too much when I go, I am just not too confident about speaking norwegian, but I understand a lot. After joining a young naturist community website ( www.ynai.com) I have become a more active naturist at home and will start showing my face more. I wish I could come to Linderud on tuesdays, but the problem with that is I have a newspaper round, and it finishes too late for me to get there, and Sogn is a little too late, i guess, but i just prefer Linderud as it is. I also have been thinking that we can advertise more on the noticeboard at Huk in the summer about the website and the winter swims and youth groups, but I don\'t know how much I will be here this summer. I might be going to Florida this winter holidays, and will hope to visit a beach there =D I would be glad to organise things but I don\'t know how much longer I will be in Norway for- I hope to get a job at SFO, or somewhere, after the summer for a year and so I should be able to participate in several things. I love naturism now, and would love to promote it in any way possible!

Danny, it looks to me like he actually wants you to come up with ideas that would get other young nudists interested in going to their events again, as in letting them know that there\'s going to be other youngsters having fun at such events. It should be relativeley easy to get the names of those who have participated in the past and then just orginiza something to do together, arrange a movie night, a party or something, get to know each other. Once you guys get to know each other you propably will become more active in events... This Norwegian girl, they all speak really good English, go chat to her, maybe she has some ideas!

Thanks.. No, it\'s not easy, i don\'t think any1 would give personal info... well here\'s an update:
From him:
I am sure a grownup would not tell, but girls a certain age think otherwise, I guess. It was the middle girl of the three who had this problem and I guess she is about 11-12 year olds or something. Maybe if she had been a few years older she would have understood.
 
We will use Huk more actively this summer. We are two people who have gotten the task to run some more activities there, like some volleyball, games for the kids etc. Would also love input about possible activities that may appeal to older teens. I am also thinking about maybe holding a naturist sport weekend at Sjøhaug, but it may need so much planning that it is more likely in 2007. I am not even in the styre in ONF yet, but probably will be after the Generalforsamling in a couple of months.
 
Btw. I see from our regulations that 16 or 17 year-olds may become a member if their parents allow it. So it is possible for you. I also have a proposal for the Generalforsamling to lower the limit to 15 years. Simply because I feel like the youth group should be 15-25 rather than 25-40 like it is today.

My parents do not know however that I am a naturist, and will not for several years to come :s But I am 18 in March and that is the age limit, no?
Oh it is those three. That is such a shame, because they created a great younger environment without knowing it, and the oldest one made me feel like I wasn\'t alone =) And I regret not introducing myself to her because it would be nice to have a naturist friend.
I am thinking of introducing it to my girlfriend but we haven\'t be going out long- 1 and a half months and so I need more time. Also she is leaving back to Germany in April so I see little point. Well, when I get an apartment in August 06, it would be fun to have get togethers, but that won\'t work I don\'t believe! It would be fun though to watch Manchester United nude with a few pizzas and some beers with people =)
Could we ever rent like a gym or something and have like a nude football tournament?
Again there would be problems with the amount of people... Hmm... well I will keep thinking!
By the way, your perfect English amazes me!
I\'m better at speaking norwegian than spelling, but when I get shy I say very little, but usually i\'m a very social person! I just wish there was a way to get more of the younger generation, because it seems to be disappearing rapidly! Well I enjoy being Linderud so I will always try to go, and am not put off by few youths just disappointed.. you know?

People have been coming up with the idea of renting a gym before. It is a good idea, but I am afraid that Oslo kommune have no gyms available at any time. We have a hard time finding a pool too (which is why we are stuck with the cold water in the showers at Linderud).
 
Your Norwegian confidence will probably improve a lot if you end up spending a year working at some SFO. Norwegian 6-10 year-olds don\'t understand much English, so you will have to speak Norwegian to them. :-)
 
Currently, not only your generation is short at Linderud, but also the one below you. Hopefully that will improve, and I believe the largest amount of teenagers will always have to consist of people who have been naturists since they were kids.
