It's ten days into the New Year, and I have yet to read a single post here of a fellow
nudie who stepped out of the "closet" to tell their mom and dad they're nudies
which was in fact the proposition when I started this thread. I'm beginning to
believe that some of you maybe lack the courage to do so? Nudies = Wimpies  Shocked?
Easy for me to say since I grew up in a nudie family. But to be sure, if I hadn't, I suppose I would definitely have found the courage to let my mom and dad know about it, especially since I'm convinced that the nudie lifestyle, being honest about it and, yes, some courage do (and should) go together nicely. I understand the "excuses" given here that it's better to shy away from arguing about this subject at home, but, to be honest, I'm a little disappointed nobody obviously made the New Year's Resolution (and followed thru with it) to courageously let their family know, "yeah, I'm a nudie!" But then again, maybe that's just me  Cheesy. Aaron

Just 13 days to go in 2007, and time to get your New Year's Resolutions in order, fellow nudies  Tongue. As a kid,
growing up in a nudie family, I was always grateful to my mom and dad for encouraging me to be naked
whenever I wanted to enjoy that lifestyle (at home, my sister and I are always naked). But then, reading post after post here at YNAI of "closet nudies"  who didn't dare come clean with their mom and dad saddened me, in part because, IMHO, doing it secretly, in one's room with the door locked, hoping that nobody will find out about it, takes the "liberating" aspect away from being a real nudie. So, after I finished my own "short list" for 2008  Cheesy (including being more careful about what I'm saying and writing, lol [after all, I'm going to be 18 years old pretty soon, and legally responsible for what I do and say]), I'd like to recommend to you "closet nudies" out there, take all your courage and tell them, "Mom, dad, maybe you've suspected it all along, maybe it comes out of the blue, but let me tell you that I'm a nudie. There are millions out there just like me, nothing sinister about it, nothing to be fearful about, nothing to be ashamed of. Nudies are just happy people, and I'm sure you want me to be one of them!" Now, how's that for a New Year's Resolution?  . Aaron

Well, my dad already knows, but my mom doesn't. She wouldn't approve and it would upset her. Since I'm 100% sure of how she would react, I havn't told her, and whether she's being close-minded or not, it wouldn't be worth screwing up of good relationship I have with my parents.

Hey monkeyfish, is one of your resolutions to stop looking so much like Jon Bon Jovi?

First off, Jon Bon Jovi is on TV as we speak  (Larry King Live on CNN;  obviously, it's a rerun  goodpoint!).
And yep, that time of year again;  my resolution for 2011 is:  no more surfing!  I started out as a 4-year-old grommit and, to be honest, never enjoyed it as much as my buddies did, and maybe just did it because it's a "Southern California" thing:  if you don't surf as a kid people think you're weird  Tongue, so I did but oftentimes thought, what am I doing here?  Paddling out and sitting on my board on end, waiting for that once-in-a-lifetime wave (which is a pretty rare thing, really  banghead), then for the fun of it jump on my feet and surf for (on average) seven seconds, paddle back and wait for another ten minutes:  G'd grief, what a waste of time! There were some fantastic moments, don't get me wrong here, but I decided I'll spend more time with our two kids instead, and give Jennifer some more time off to do stuff that really is of interest to her.  And no, I don't have to loose weight, I'm still somewhat skinny  rofl.  So I do wish all my fellow YNAI-nudies a good 2011, especially those who tell us about their New Year's Resolution!  Aaron

I resolve not to make a resolution.

I couldn't help but to put that up there.  I'll quit surfing too Aaron.  Though I never have and likely never will living on the prairies.  bad habits should not require a new year to break.  It can be an incentive when the calendar changes.  Spring is also a resolution time.  Get rid of the old and keeping life simpler.  Fall is a good time to refocus at work and school.  So if you're not sure what to resolve right now, there are 364 other days this year to start anew.  I have changed a few of my habits before the new year with the newborn.  Two Kids is 4 times the work i'm finding.  At least our oldest if more and more self reliant.  If only she could stop peeing her pants/bed.

I am back to work on the 3rd.  Since I have done minimal effort in some aspects of my job this last month, I'll have to pick up the slack.  My family is now healthy, baby is here and I can focus again on what needs to be done.  Not so much a new year thing, but a new baby adventure.

Peace.
