Thank's, HelicopterBob, and the same to you and all our fellow U.S. nudies; (as far as I know
Thanksgiving is celebrated different days in different countries, so I'm limiting my good
wishes to those living in the United States  Cheesy), Aaron

Aaron, i wasn't aware thanksgiving is celebrated outside America. interesting. it certainly is not part of our calendar in new zealand, and i think i can safely say, australia also.

enjoy your day all the same

Canada celebrates Thanksgiving Day on US Columbus Day. In Australia, they could have an emu dinner instead of a turkey dinner.

Here's something to contemplate for Thanksgiving:  Weekly Groceries around the world

The so-called food shown for the "average American family" is rather disgraceful, in my opinion.

There is a Day of Thanksgiving on the Roman Catholic calendar, and Germany celebrated it yesterday as a bank holiday (or so I was told by a friend living there)... but I don't think it has the cultural significance outside the US that it has inside.

Me, I don't really see the point of it as celebrated in the US. Stuffing yourself with turkey untill you pass out? With the family? Sounds like the sort of celebration I'd take considerable pains to avoid.

Hi Aaron, Thanksgiving is mainly an American festival and is not celebrated in the UK or Australia. Sounds good fun though. William Smiley

I don't find it disgraceful. I like Thanksgiving. Its not just about stuffing your face, even though that's part of it for most of us. Thanksgiving is about a day of togetherness with family and giving thanks for the blessings/good things we have had.

Even if others find it ridiculous, I've been looking forward to stuffing my face all week.

My comment was directed at the week's groceries of the American family shown at the link in my post. I was remarking on the prevalence of packaged junk food in their diet:
