What if I get an erection?

Most males get erections these natural occurrences in most cases are periodic and predictable. Erections occur periodically during sleep and as the result of internal stimuli, they also occur naturally as the result of external stimuli meeting particular notions of sexuality. Since each male has different criteria for being aroused, it is difficult to assert that this erection was caused by that stimulus.

This problem occurs far less frequently you might think. Nude recreation is just not that much of a sexual situation for most participants. As in any social setting, the Golden Rule applies. If you get an erection at a nude beach or other social nude setting, you and the group you are with are the best judges as to whether or not it is appropriate. Naturists generally yield a bit of elbow room to avoid making you feel uncomfortable; you should use your judgement to avoid making them feel uncomfortable. If necessary, take a swim or roll over for a short while. In any case, just use common sense and be considerate.

What if I'm Menstruating?

Again, this is a natural occurrence, and it is one of the realities of the body with which women have to deal. If a woman is comfortable with one, a tampon is the simplest method of dealing with that time of month. If an external conveyance is preferred, then she would wear shorts or bikini bottoms.

For the most part, a woman should use what she feels is less obtrusive for her personally; others aren't going to notice or object.

What if I meet someone from school of work?

Remember they are there too, just as naked as you are. Be happy to discover that person shares something in common with you.

How do I act when talking to others?

It is often difficult for new people to know where to look. To a naturist, there is no difference between being dressed or nude. Try to act as you normally would.

It is OK to look. Out of curiosity you may initially look longer at others' genitals and breasts. Just don't stare. In time, you'll be less curious about these areas and concentrate again on the face and eyes.

...a tampon is the simplest method of dealing with that time of month...

I know I'm adding to a very old post, but this might be a big help in regards to a lot of women's concerns with menstruation and nudism/naturalism. I hope it doesn't come across like an infomercial - I just want to share with the community.

I use something called a mooncup - a silicon menstrual cup designed as an alternative to tampons and pads. It's kinda hard to describe but you can read about it on their website.
The most obvious benefit to naturist in particular is the lack of a string or any external sign that you're wearing it, not to mention being a lot more comfortable - it's easy to forgot you even have it in.

A lot of the nudist women seem to be eco-minded, so for them it adds the benefit of eliminating the unbiodegradable waste (you can re-use them for about 10 years), while being healthier (and much less gross!). It doesn't contain any toxic chemicals like tampons and pads which is the last thing you want to be putting down there Wink. It's easy to carry around and you have the benefit of being able to use it for long periods without having to change (overnight if you need to).

There are other brands for different prices so shop around. I've only tried the mooncup and I love it, but I'm sure the other brands will work in the same way. One of them, called The Keeper, has a nice visual and cost comparison on their website.

If it's too comfortable and women forget, that could lead to toxic shock syndrome.

You're right, but that's no reason to walk around with an uncomfortable vagina all day

But on a more serious note, yeah, toxic shock syndrome is definitely something you should be careful with. Mooncups (and the like) are definitely safer than normal tampons in this respect as they allow the vagina to work naturally, rather than creating unnatural conditions that the bacteria that can cause TSS thrive in (according to my doctor). He says they are safe to use overnight as well because of this (unlike tampons). The fact that these kinds of devices have never been associated with TSS makes me feel a lot better about using them than regular tampons (plus the fact they are made of inert medical grade silicone rather than a huge variety of manmade fibres, bleaches, colours, etc). They discuss TSS on the Mooncup site here.

But yes, everyone should be extremely wary of these dangers with any internal female sanitary product!

IBTC/Dominique's computer's broken at the moment, but she'll be back here as soon as it's fixed... but she says "you're welcome" to papabear. For every person she convinces, she saves a truckload of rubbish, so she's happy to recommend it to anyone.
