Unfortunately, right now, I'm saddened by the speed and scope this State is going south; California is practically bankrupt, financially and otherwise. To think that our little guy and his kids will be burdened by the monetary stranglehold this generation has forced on them, makes me extremely unhappy. And worse, what started out in 1776 as a promise for a new beginning has turned, during the last couple of years, into a steady deterioration of values and standards etc., to a point where the prospect of a failed State is looming. It might actually take some time, but after we saw the Soviet Union implode within a month or two, even the eternal optimists here can't claim they haven't been forewarned. Unemployment, homelessness and other social indicators point to an all-time poor situation, and people around me who I remember were generous, tolerant and benevolent, are getting antsy, miserly and grumpy. I, for one, being a religious person, who has studied the rise and destruction of civilizations throughout time, believe now that G'd has turned His Grace away from this country He had given a good chance to prosper in every way imaginable, and this thought just pains me. I'm just saying. My little family still gives me much hope for the future, but that's a very self-centered view when you notice things around you are falling apart. It's not my intension to ruin anybody's parade here, I'm just deeply saddened by the reality in California and the country I was born in, and still love! So, please excuse my untimely rantings, and enjoy the Fourth, no matter what, and hopefully as a nudie, for at least an hour or so. Love, Aaron
