What do you think it will take to get youths more involved in the naturist lifestyle?

First we need to make it publicly accepted by the government. Then we need to forbid youth to engage in it.
That will make it a very popular youth activity.

I like your style . Don't know if it would work though, because there is still a bridge to cross for most young people. For some reason there seems to be a certain shame involved with nudity.

That doesnt stop 'girls from going wild' on spring break or guys from breaking out the package while standing on top of a bar

And what shame? That doesnt stop 'girls from going wild' on spring break or guys from breaking out the package while standing on top of a bar I wonder if that may be part of the problem. If practical young people start associating nudity with that kind of behavior, then they might be more apprehensive to embrace nudity if they think it's all about going wild. I think that over time, hopefully sooner rather than later, as young people in society we'll begin to see the side of nudity that is plain and simple, and therefore will be more comfortable with it. That's my hope anyway

For teens not raised as naturists, there is a lot of un-learning required to understand what naturism is about.
There also need to be opportunities available to practice naturism. I think that if most public beaches had safe areas for nude volleyball, it would catch on.

Taming fears and misconceptions of nudity in youth will entail a means of exposure from all the facets youth are familiar with. I believe the first positive step would entail a rejuvenation of the mandatory in-school showering policies. A few schools around the country have begun doing this at an Elementary level, which in my mind is a perfect time to introduce social nudity in today’s modern world.
Removing individual changing stalls at water parks and beaches would also help in forcing kids hand at accepting nudity as a part of life. The idea of beaches and more common designated areas that are nude friendly would also go along way towards teaching youngsters that its something both healthy, natural, nothing to be ashamed of, and not inherently sexual.
Topping it all off; ease on the censorship of nudity (both with adults and with youth) in cinema. It is something so taboo that even an exposed nipple during a half-time super bowl event created mass media hysteria and talk for weeks, if not months. It may be difficult to ‘open the mind’ of my generation, but there is always hope to curb things around – and cinema is a great tool.
Unfortunately, nearly all of the above, as powerful and effective as it all may be – is something that most may see as serving to entertain a dream, vice a reality. I can only hope that one day more liberal views towards our own selves will replace the more insecure, self-righteous and prudish views that circulate our governing walls.

You got imo the right idea tho. Start young when their minds are still open, and haven’t been slammed shut by society. Its proly easier to keep a mind open, than it is to reopen a closed one.

Thats a very well put post there shiden, i think those moves would go a long way in creating a healthy attitude to our natural selves. Isnt it silly that we are the only animal on the planet that is freaked out by what we look like naturally. But then this fear has been forced upon us over nearly 2000 years by religious institutions for political and control reasons originally and now by groups for the same reasons under the guise of a pshuedo child welfare or sexual saftey tag. It will be hard to shift, but the fact we have naturists today and many of them religious and or including women and children shows there are people out there with inteligence and a hope this brainwashing can be reversed eventually.

I thought your post was very well said Shiden. I remember my dad telling me how they took showers in gym and such, and well it was just regarded as normal practice. Now my parents aren't naturists, and well I don't think this would convince everyone to become naturists, but it would defintely help to make people more comfortable with their body, at least if only around members of the same sex. It seems today young people are overly modest.

The one and only thing that sometimes pulls me away from enjoying a weekend at Olive Ranch and other sun clubs is that there.s practically nobody my age. 99% of all folks there are 21 and older. My two buddies who from time to time went there with us don't any more because they are sick and tired of "looking at wrinkled geezers, and practically no youngsters" (their words). We are moving to Huntington Beach next month, and my mom, dad, sister and me were there last Sunday, and it.s mostly teens and some older folks at the beach, all of them, of course, wearing boardshorts and stuff, and it makes me sick because it's all upside down. I don't want to appear rude and weird, but if I were to make the law I'd decide people my age stay at the beach and are required by law to be naked, and everybody over 50 and/or out of shape needs to cover up and move inland. But that's just me  . Aaron

I was chatting with some younger couples at my reort some weeks ago and we were talking about what resorts do to attract the younger crowd. The consensus was -- nothing!
They always seem to play 50's music at the dances, and the games available tend to be enjoyed more by the older crowd. Such things are fine to have to cater to your clientele, but it is not the way to go if you're trying to attract younger folk.
