Hi all,
I thought I would post something about this on here, as I\'m not sure how many of our European members are also members of any \'recognised\' youth group.
Anyway... The UK has been selected to hold the International Naturist Federation [INF] Youth Rally next year. :--
The INF Rally is an event that is held every year in a different country. It’s a chance for all the youth groups in Europe to meet up (well, I say from Europe, but I hear that people come from as far afield as the USA), and, I am reliably informed, it\'s an excellent opportunity to make lots of new friends. :====
The Rally will be a five day event, from Wednesday 16th May – Sunday 20th May 2007. This is a huge event with 300+ people attending between the ages of 15-30. There will be all kinds of activities, day trips, etc going on.
No firm plans yet - likely venue identified, but YBN is currently in \'consultation\' mode on all the rest...
I will really be doing my best to clear my schedule for this, and I hope that I may see some of you there!

This sounds wonderful! Unfortunately it'd rule me out since I'm not between the ages of 15 - 30, but if Laissez-Fayre is ready to do gigs by then I'd love to do a gig for it once the venue has been decided.

Hey Dario, We have the venue sorted out now - and I guess it's OK for me to say where it's going to be, since it has been listed on the YBN calendar and in the public domain on the new YBN website. The Rally will be held at Broadlands Sun Club, in Norwich. Reasons for choosing it were: Large enough to hold everybody They provide the food They have a large club house with a marquee attached, a stage and a bar Indoor Pool Sports Facilities Lake for possible water sports Easy access for the Dutch, Germans and French They are used to holding large events
Here is the link http://www.users.paston.co.uk/broadlands//cover.htmlThe theme has yet to be decided (it's tradition, of course, for the Rally to have a theme) Suggestions to date include: King Arthur and the round table Naval / Maritime Movies / Hollywood Undead (Vampires, spirits, zombies) 1920s Fairy tales Disney characters If you get in touch with Joel or Debbie (BN Youth Officers - contact details are on the BN site) about Laissez-Fayre then I'm sure they'd be happy to hear from you! Debs has to meet with the Broadlands EC in January - so you may want to mention it before then. Cost could obviously be a factor - Oz is an awful long way away! One thing that I have to point out is that it's going to be an event for members of INF-affiliated organisations, or individual INF members. Such membership will be a pre-requisite for attendance.

Hi all. I really cannot stress to people just how good this event is - I have been to 5 of them and to be at an event with anything up to 250-300 young people from all over Europe (and latterly the world) really is amazing and not something that happens all the time. The 5 days run pretty much along the same lines no matter where the event is held but even so there is always a change in theme, surroundings, people and activities. If you can make this event then I suggest that you do or will have missed possibly the best youth naturist event in Europe of 2007 (that isnt over hyping either, once have been you will understand). Noodie is correct as well when saying that if you do wish to attend then you MUST belong to your countries youth organisation and memberships are checked out. For those in the UK that means you will have to join YBN but there is that option of joining for £10 for the first 6 months which would cover it...) :!: If anyone has any questions about these events then please ask me and Ill try my best to answer. Ben

Nice one Ben, look forward to seeing you there and anyone else from YNAI that can make it along.
There is a thread on the YBN message board about this asking for ideas etc so if you have any or if you want to volunteer for anything chuck it on there !
Cheers,
Ben

I pondering if it would be worth putting together some kind of flyer to put up around campus but I don't know how effective that would be or the resulting reaction??

There will be an official flyer for this event and it is in the final stages of being approved and printed. When this is ready you could email the youth officer and ask for some to hand out if you wanted them.
With everyone going having to be a member of their national organisation it would laso be worth pointing out to anyone interested the fact BN are offering a trial membership of £10 for 6 months so it is alot cheaper to join than normal.

Hey the UK Gang
I have sent an email to YBN asking for a copy of the flyer so we can have it available as a download from ynai.com so our members can print it out.
I aslo have a count down to the event on our ain home page, top right.
Is there a website we can link the count down to so visitors to our site can read about it.

There's nothing up yet Casey, primarily because discussions over much of the detail aren't concluded yet. I expect that something will be posted on the INF site: http://www.inffni.org/ and BN site: http://www.british-naturism.org.uk when there are more details to report. And of course one of us will post more details here, once they're to hand!

If you get in touch with Joel or Debbie (BN Youth Officers - contact details are on the BN site) about Laissez-Fayre then I'm sure they'd be happy to hear from you! I sent an e-mail to both of them two days ago, so I'll just sit back and wait to hear what they have to say. The lead singer from the band is really keen to go along, so I'll get the memberships fixed up before then.

I'm hoping to get there for the wednesday and possibly stay until friday but it looks doubtful that I can get the weekend off work so I don't know! It's a shame because saturday and sunday will probably be the best two days!

I'll be there for all five days - I've booked the weekdays off already. Hope that lots of YNAI'ers will come. The venue's close to Norwich, which has an airport served by a low-cost airline (FlyBE). I had a look at the air fares earlier and I'm considering flying up and back now! £52.98 return from Exeter Airport - and it only takes an hour and five minutes! It's £51.18 return from Edinburgh, €98.11 from Amsterdam, €98.13 from Paris. http://www.flybe.com

Cool, good to see people are planning on coming along to this event !
For the record though, if people in the UK say that they wish there were more younger naturists near them or that they dont know anyone of equal age interested in naturism and they dont come to this event then they have missed out !
This event wont be in the UK again for at least another 5 years and is the best chance that YBN and non YBN members in the UK (now) have of getting the 'establishment' to listen to our voice. If people do not attend this event then any complaints that YBN / British Naturism / Naturism in general (the establishment) doesnt try to hellp them or does nothing for them will mean nothing. This is the loudest possible noise that YBN can make to all people in the UK and the more voices we have present the louder and more serious we will be.
Please consider joining and coming along to this event if, for no other reason then to enable progress. It is £10 for people who havent joined before and this event in itself is worth it, so please have a think about it and consider helping / joining YBN.
Cheers,
Ben
