DOn\'t know if anyone\'s posted about this yet, but I hope he survives and gets better; condition is said to be critical, after crashing at 270mph.

I heard it on the radio this morning and suffice to say I was quite shocked by the news. I hope he recovers and comes back to Top Gear as it wouldn\'t be the same without him!

November-December 2006 is supposed to be the last series anyway, and I doubt that\'ll happen now.

He\'s a TV presenter, best know for presenting Top Gear and Brainiac.

Hopefully he\'ll make a full recovery, Top Gear and Brainiac wouldn\'t be the same without him.
An update: His condition has been downgraded from serious but stable to stable and he\'s been moved out of intensive care.

I enjoyed reading that as I like Clarksons journalistic style. Sad to hear that people are campaigning to get Top Gear off the air though. I think there should be some kind of petition to keep it on put up somewhere!

So good to hear that he is going well and beginning to make a full recovery from an horrific accident.

They breed you Poms tough - did anyone see Katherine Legge\'s Champcar crash at Road America? The car, as it is designed to do, disintegrated when the rear wing failed at 160 miles per hour, cannoning her into the fence!

Amazingly, she walked away from the incident with only a banged knee and left the TV interviewer speechless when she said she\'d get back out there no worries, but the car wasn\'t able to be fixed!!!

Big balls indeed (despite the fact she hasnt got any!)!

Yeah, I saw the race, and Katherine\'s accident. Pretty amazing really - and testament to the strength of the Lola monocoque, as those cars are obviously getting on a bit now...

I\'m just relieved that she came out of it OK. I feared for her when I saw the car bouncing along the debris fence, several feet in the air. Kept thinking back to Kenny Brack\'s IRL accident.

It was good to see \'Kiki\' up and about during the pre-show too. He looked well on the road to recovery. \"Push Please\" Cristiano!

Echo those sentiments, we didnt get footage of da Matta here in Oz, but have been following his progress on the net.

F1 *very* exciting after China, however i think the numbskulls that broadcast F1 in Oz will make us wait to see the Japanese Grand Prix at 11pm

Couldn\'t disagree more about Mr Clarkson\'s journalistic style, Ben. He\'s a boorish, arrogant oaf who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, had a privelaged childhood, a snob\'s education & really has little or no idea about how the majority of people here in the UK actually live, what we do to pay the bills mummy sorted out for him when he was younger & most importantly for an automotive journalist, he hasn\'t a bloody clue what real people drive!

That said, his pompousness & air of grandeur, to the manor born attitude is what distinguishes him from one or two others on the TV & is probably what makes him popular with the masses, because he says controversial things without realising he\'s offending 2/3 of the country. He lives in lala land & thinks it\'s perfectly normal to have a decommisioned fighter jet in his wee country mansion\'s driveway .... I\'m surprised his wife didn\'t grind his nuts to a pulp with her green wellies when he pulled that stunt!

Strange how a show presented by a bumbling fool, a pompous twat & a working class bloke makes such compelling viewing .. says it all about the UK! At least \'hamster\' Hammond has an air of realism about him & actually knows (knew) what it\'s like to struggle to pay a mortgage & make the monthly HP payments on a Ford Escort. Give me VB-H any day .. sound down obviously but at least she\'s easy on the eye, even if she does spout a load of bovine scatollogy almost all the time she tries to talk about cars  Evil And at least Tiff Needell & Jason Plato actually know how to drive performance vehicles both swiftly & safely, unlike the pompous arrogant twat over on Top Gear ......

OK, class .... discuss. I\'ll enjoy seeing the replies to this one!
