Makes for a more close knit community.

Now, if some wiley scientist somewhere would be kind enough to perfect the Star Trek transporter, we could have live monthly meetings with ease.

Yeah, im a trekkie nerd.  Sue me.

... But does that make it a little difficult for newbies to break into the fold?

Well, good question.  I think we just need to make sure they are made welcome and explain the rules and then support them.  We WANT new kids in here. Real kids. Full profiles.  We want them to post and say hello and ask questions and get advice.  What we need to do, like yahoo groups, is to set up some automatic file with a text, that goes to them when they first apply for membership.  An up-beat one, with a welcome and stating we want your posts!  Then, when they remain nudiemuties, and they are slaughe...umm....removed, they get a txt file too explaining why and welcome them back if they wish to re-apply and get with the program.

My 35 cents.

If it is possible to send out a txt file as Danee mentioned, I would be happy to write one up! Rob let me know if this is possible - and comments on what should be included are welcomed from everyone else.

I personally think it takes more than a text file... I believe it takes a very active board and a great welcome from all members.

I know sometimes it\'s difficult to join a new group, especially a naturist group, as a newbie it takes a while to establish trust within the new group.

We really need to encourage new people to be active members not just members.

Just my 20 cents Wink

Just out of curiosity slim, what aspects of the board were the most inviting to you?  Was is simply just the ability to ask questions or was it something about the welcoming, homepage, etc.?

I, too, agree that this site is very inviting for newbies, as obviously, at one time, I was one myself.  I think the best feature is that it is for the younger crowd.  Even though other boards may appear at first to have a special feature for the youth, most are for the older crowd, as many of us know.

Glad to hear that things are going well for you slim.  It\'s just neat to learn of everyone\'s stories and to help each other overcome barriers based on our own experiences.     Smiley

hey jojo.
it was a combination of being able to ask questions about nudism regarding many things, for example my psorisis, and not getting a response that would make me feel like im doing something wrong.
then there is the fact that i have never spoke to anyone about my nudism and this site has eased my worries.
i think the fact that we are all roughly the same age also helps. people with experience like danee, yourself, top, sponta and zilla are all willing to share what they have been through.

it gives me a sense of great welcoming, and the confidence i have gained is emmense. Cheesy

Hi guys - my two pence worth - i feel the site has got the mix of things just about right.  I like reading all the posts from everybody on the forum - even thou i do seem to go thru peaks and troughs to when im contributing to them.   It has a good advice for all the newbies - and with good moderators like Danee, Rob etc it has helped keep the site wholesome and family orientated which what naturism should be about. It also has good friendly banter too which is always good to read.

If honest i dont tend to use the rest of the site but thats because i know about naturism now, for a newbie - i think the rest of the site is ace for them to get a real flavour about what naturism is about.
