I didn't do Halloween this year as a lot of the parties were happening on the Saturday night before and that's when I got back from holiday. Usually I like to make the effort to dress up and go all out so I'll have to wait until next year now. Oh well, there is due to be a fancy dress theme for the New Years do I'm going to so all is not lost for this year!!

I don't usually dress up, and I didn't this year. Though I do like to see what hilarious costumes people like to come up with.

This is one I saw posted on another forum that made me laugh so hard when I first saw it:

I grew up in New Orleans, and the best day to be there was Halloween night in the French Quarter, you'd see sooooo much crazy hilarious stuff, like this one, haha.

HAQHAHAHAHAHa.  my kids were animals and I was dressed up as a dad.  Don't you get in trouble for that living in a christian community?  I'd be ostersized.  Too funny.

Anyone else seen this video? It's several parents pranking their kids, saying they ate all the kids halloween candy, hahaha.

Yeah I tried this on my 3 year old.  it didn't work.  I tried again with a piece of cake.  she was upset, but I showed her seconds after telling her and before she really started to cry.  No matter what the promise is, it has an effect on kids.

I wouldn't be surprised if at least SOME of those parents didn't give the kids their candy back, haha. Some of them probably shouldn't be eating it anyway.

So what kind of candy do your kids get mostly? It seems like mostly everything today is some kind of mini chocolate bar - snickers, 3 Musketeers, Milky Way, etc. Not really any surprises. I remember when I was little, there weren't as many mini chocolate bars like today (though they were often the first things we'd eat, haha!), but we'd get all kinds of stuff like atomic fireballs, lemonheads, sugar daddy, blow pops, tons of tootsie rolls, sweet tarts, nerds, jawbreakers, popcorn, and tons of other stuff. What happened to those?? Man how times have changed.

My son and I passed out hand packed treat bags. The weekend before we sat for two and a half hours packing big bags full of good hard candies (sweet tarts, jaw breakers, nerds, etc, plus things like candy rings and necklaces), some good chewy sweets, wax lips, hand made lolly pops, and various small toys (squeezy brains, bat rings, eyeballs, rats, etc). We made about twelve special ones for well made costumes, or kids that were very convincing in their characters. They included two-foot long pixie stix, full candy bars, and upgraded toys Smiley )

I Almost added some YNAI key chains but thought better of it Cheesy

Wow, that sounds really cool. You'll get a nice reputation in the neighborhood and you'll get more kids showing up next year. Halloween was basically cancelled for us because mostly everyone's power around here was knocked out from a snow storm a few days before. So now my office has tons of candy from those people that couldn't give any out on Halloween!

I did my own take on the Chainsaw Guy from Resident Evil 4.  It was a bit of a last minute costume.

My gf and I went to a nightclub, there were some great costumes.  I didn't see any with much in the way of nudity but a few guys were shirtless (a friend of ours did the "bowtie and cuffs" thing) and one girl wore a see-through top... I think those choices were mostly to increase their chances of pulling, though!
