Hey all. It's no secret that naturist enviroments tend to be male heavy, and I know from experience that it's a real pain trying to get women to try naturism in the first place. Only now after reading quite a few comments on almost every video of a female on youtube with even the slightest bit of cleavage that I think I understand why. So this is my hypothesis;

I get the strong feeling that it's because of sexism that puts allot of females off trying naturism. In our society, women seem to be the object to be "chased" after by men. And so when they hear that they'd be naked infront of other people, it gets linked to an opportunity for male voyeurism and more objectification of them. And so anyone who encourages it for genuine benefits gets classified among the voyeuristic perverts!

So it seems the task of men in this situation is to perhaps wait and show they are genuine people in the way we act around women. If more women are to get involved, we need to be better than the perverts who yell "SHOW ME UR TITS" in every video comments section. Maybe after that we can get a bit more trust in naturism to provide a none sexual environment.

I'd like to know what everyone thinks of this Smiley.

In our society, women seem to be the object to be "chased" after by men.

True..this is because of too many clothes imposed on us by society from childhood and the natural attraction for opposite sex was forcefully suppressed.
This leads to voyeurism.
A boy grownup in a naturist family will never becme a pervert.

Couldn't agree more. Its actually kind of frustrating that a lot of women don't realise how natural and liberating naturism can be, and crass male behaviour definitely plays a large part in this. I'm pretty sure that if I invited a female friend to a nude beach, she woud think my reasons were less than wholesome. Even my own girlfriend of 5 years doesn't want to give it a try, just because she's been so conditioned to think there's something 'wrong' about it.

My experience with my female friends is that it is less about harassment from guys than their own insecurities about their bodies. I am not by any stretch of the imagination suggesting that it is their fault, I know this is a societal problem that sets a higher standard, or a double standard, for female physical fitness and attractiveness. Magazines and beauty product makers consistently attack women's self-esteem in order to make money, etc. It is not just men who do it, many women are complicit in this as well, knowingly and unknowingly.

One of my friends thinks her breasts are too big, and doesn't like the way her breasts hang and move around when she is naked. Another thinks she isn't thin enough, and fears being judged by others as unattractive. I can do little to make them feel better. These thoughts are deep-rooted and extremely difficult to fight. The best thing I can think of is to find female naturists talk to my friends about it, or show my friends testimonials from women about naturism. That might make it easier for them.

I think the guys that are yelling "SHOW ME UR TITS" in the video comments wouldn't be at nudist resorts anyway, since it's an environment with no open sex. They're highly more likely to go to strip clubs. Or Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

Not true, I've met one! And I'm absolutely positive he grew up in a naturist environment too. He was being a perv towards me though, not one of my favorite experiences.

My experience with my female friends is that it is less about harassment from guys than their own insecurities about their bodies.
I think this is a big reason most women won't try naturism. It's exactly why my fiancee is uncomfortable trying it. She'll go nude around the house, but definitely not in front of people, since she's so self conscious. I think most women already AT nudist resorts are pretty self conscious too. Though they come in all shapes and sizes, I notice that most of the bigger ones wearing some kind of sarong or are completely clothed.
