I wanted to share an experience of mine that I had recently. It is the Evergreen State College's Mud Bay Run that happens every year in the morning on the day of graduation. It is clothing optional, but also very physically demanding, and in my opinion, completely legitimate bragging material. It is only about 500 yards to run, but takes 10-15 minutes because everyone gets stuck in the mud, and pulling one's foot out of the mud, or simply moving, requires an extraordinary amount of effort. For anyone who has not lived in the Puget Sound, or in an area with tidal mud flats, the mud in these tidal estuaries is composed mainly of decomposing organic matter in an anoxic environment where there are methane- and hydrogen sulfide-producing bacteria. That means that the mud smells absolutely foul, and if you are unfortunate enough to get some in your mouth, you will want to puke. After the run, I did see three guys puking.
