guys - i have to ask -
i go commando all the time, but if im going out to the shops to try on clothing, then i wear boxer shorts. this is really uncomfortable for me as i hate wearing boxers! does anybody else have this problem?
a while ago, when trying on a pair of shorts with my parents, i realised i had no underwear on and had to try these shorts on. my mum then tried to see if they were ok at the waist and nearly discovered me with no boxers! so - as you can imagine, this is a problem!!
any thoughts on how to avoid this? or ideas of other ways of doing this?

Easy answer, time to go clothes shopping on your own, you're 18!! Also when you're trying on pants at the store, out of consideration for the next person that may have to try those on, you should be wearing SOME kind of underwear for sanitary purposes.

so would you suggest i have a pair of boxer's or something in my bag/jacket pocket to put on if trying on pants/shorts/trousers? i think i've just answered my own question here! |

Or do what my fiancee (and I assume many women) does - buy several, try them on at home, then return the ones you don't like, haha.

I haven't worn underwear with regular clothing in years but I too would wear underwear if I knew I was going to try on clothes that day.
I'm curious what women would say on this topic, since it seems to be mostly guys commenting. There is only one person in this thread who is of the female variety. I would guess that fewer women go commando, given their lack of external genitalia and the discomfort issues that arise from that, and would guess that women in general would feel less comfortable without underwear, but I really have no way of knowing. Anyone care to educate me?

I prefer as little clothing as possible, but I also like to keep my jewels comfortable. So for me choosing to wear underwear depends entirely on what sort of pants or shorts I am wearing. I have an uncle who never wears underwear, not even under jeans or a suit. I prefer a softer layer when the pants are of sturdy material and liable to chafe my glans when walking. Here's where a foreskin would really come in handy... stop routine infant circumcision!

I enjoy going commando as much as anyone, but I wear boxers when I'm trying on clothes. It really is the right thing to do...would you want to go commando in something the guy in front of you just went commando in?

Hey bro!
I'm with you all the way here bro! Boxers drive me insane and going commando is a solid answer to it! Also i dont believe there is any law saying you must wear boxers etc! Well if there is i'm in trouble! But yeah bro just think about what your gonna be doing when you go out commando! Personal and public hygeine is important! Either that do online shopping... then you can remain nude while you shop! Ideal!

Definitely go commando a lot. Much less laundry! I haven't been in much need for new clothing in a while (the more time nude, the less wear and tear on my clothes), so I rarely run into this predicament. But I definitely would wear boxers to shop for new shorts.
