World Record Skinny Dip 2010

Anyone partaking this year?  I'm from Minneapolis, MN so I was thinking of scoping out Aurora Gardens which is only a couple hours by car and has a discount rate.  Not sure what to expect so I'm not sure I'll go, but who knows I might just convince myself to go for it.

Yeah I looked up those places online, but it seemed like you had to register in advance, and they seem less singles-friendly.

I had looked into going and was pondering it. Unfortunately the local resort which is about an hour away would welcome me for the grounds fee of 40 bucks, w/ an AANR card. Sadly I let my AANR membership expire. So I would have had to pay their $175 bachelor fee which is good for 3 visits within 90 days. Got an email yesterday the resort had lifted the $175 bachelor fee on Saturday only so you would only have to pay the visiting grounds rate. Now i made other plans maybe next year i will make one.

I'm probably going up to Hidden River resort on the Georgia/ Florida state line today.

It was actually featured in the local news here last night.

Nudists Skinny-Dipping For World Record
Local Participants Joining Thousands Of Others Around The Country

ST. GEORGE, Ga. -- Some local nudists will join thousands of others from around the country Saturday to break the simultaneous skinny-dipping record.

Some of those participating in the event flocked to the Hidden River Resort with their RVs one day early.

It is the second time the event will be held. Last year, according to the resort website, 13,647 people in 143 locations simultaneously skinny-dipped their way to a world record. They said they are hoping to break the record this year.

The event is certainly not for the bashful, but nudists such as Emerson Poe said they enjoy the freedom of not having clothes.

"I don't have anything else to do, and I just enjoy not wearing clothes," he said. "And I like to have an even tan line."

They said nudism has nothing to do with sex or morality. They said it's just about freedom.

The event will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Hidden River Resort in St. George, Ga., about 14 miles north of Macclenny, Fla.

I did make it to Aurora Gardens (which I'll write up later), but unfortunately I didn't actually participate in the record.  I got there later than expected, and by the time I was done messing around registering and getting settled, it was over.

But I'm still glad I went, and it was still a significantly discounted rate.

Avatan is the only MN club participating as far as I heard. They are singles friendly since they've never given me a hard time. I've been there twice this year and several times last year. Oakwood on the other hand...is NOT singles friendly. I inquired about visiting (before they changed their website after my email to take down the "AANR members can visit anytime" and make it "AANR couples can visit anytime") saying they don't allow single males and I'd be better off contacting the NakedMN, the local gay nudist club.
