As most of my fellow YNAI-members know I'm a very outspoken nudie and explain the benefits of being a nudie whenever it's appropriate (and I'm the one to decide when it's appropriate lol!); on the other hand, as far as Facebook is concerned, I wrote in the "Need a Facebook expert ..."-thread, on January 14, Christine, I was told with their new protocol in place now, everyone could read everything that you and your friends publish on your Facebook pages. I'm not an expert on these matters, and I don't really have anything to hide there, but this caused me to cancel my account. For me personally, Facebook was always more or less annoying and a waste of time to begin with, so I don't think I'm missing out much; just the idea that total strangers can from now on rummage thru every member's stuff goes against my sense of privacy, so yep, I left Dodge. Aaron That's the way it is, and yes, life goes on without Facebook! Aaron P.S.: Doug, I hope you had a great time in those southernmost parts of the «colonies»!

I would like to add that my buddy Sean just sent me an email asking, if everybody was on Facebook would I really be the one odd man out? To which I answered, "Maybe I would, according to my family's «battle cry» : „Et si omnes, ego non!” (= „Even if everybody else, not me!”)". That might sound elitist , to me personally it's super-individualist which showed when I was still a kid growing up in Santa Monica: 99.999% of the time I was the only nudie at the beach (until I turned six and the lifeguards told me in no uncertain terms I was «too old» to run around naked there, because it was «inappropriate» ). My response to the topic at hand would be, how do you measure «decline»? Not to make a big thing out of it, but when I announced the birth of our little guy in June of last year, there were 11 posts within 48 hours; this time around when I announced the birth of our second child two weeks ago, there were «only» two posts within the same time frame. That's the way it is (second child? a girl this time?)? A decline in civility and/or interest (maybe because it's not really nudie-related)? I guess I'm once again just speculating ! Aaron

Way back in the day, way before the transition to the current ynai, there was only a few new posts here and there on the old website. There might be only a few of us know of or remember the former website. Rob was instrumental in the migration to the current site. What I'm getting at is the forum is and always will be about its members. It can pick up steam just as fast as it can loose it. While the number of "nudist" websites have increased, this one has and most likely will be here for the long haul. Good, Clean nudist websites are hard to come by. While one may log in and see nothing "new," remember it is about connecting with others who like to do the same thing.
Just get involved, if you just want to lurk, then don't expect a lot of activity.
I give much due credit to the admin and moderators for keeping YNAI clean and safe.
I know I have not been an active member ever since starting a doctoral program, the same goes for my wife. I hope to again visit YANI more often but as others have said, life sometimes prevents us for doing such. I can say that both my wife and I are looking forward to the upcoming summer as we plan to visit our local nudist club more frequently. Cheers

I agree Top, life just takes over sometimes. This is what happened with me! I used to be one of the most active members on this site, even being priviledged as a moderator! But as I finished uni and went into full time work, I found that I had a lot less spare time, more commitments and more responsibilities. This detracted from my attendence on the site and also from naturism in general.
I have recently moved to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia which is possibly one of the least conducive places for naturism so for the time being, that part of my life is really going to have to take a back seat. I work from home most of the time so at least I get to enjoy the freedom of not having to worry about putting anything on when I get out of bed and on to the laptop and the weather is certainly warm enough to allow it!
Things change, life changes, priorities change!
Cheers

Thanks Top. I know I have not been on as much since I have turned 36, didn't want to intrude, but since we have been getting spammed more I will be trying to clean up more

True, that could help. But you'd have to be willing to come out as a nudist to your friends/family (and the entire world basically) since there's basically NO privacy on facebook anymore.

We are a bit 'strict', and REALLY try to not encourage photo sharing, because 1) Real nudists don't 'NEED' to see other nudists naked online. If everyone who wants to see naked people on line is a nudist then there are Billions of naturists out there If you really want to see naked pics of people, even nudists, it is as simple as removing the safe search on google and googling nudist pics. 2) You and I could get sent to the iron bar hotel if any of those pics could possibly come from a child, or you send a naked pic To a child... Baaaaaad mojo. It is why we don't allow people trolling for pic swaps. I REALLY hope there is no 'youth' oriented nudist website that supports pic swapping. Nude Pic swapping is, in my mind, just a way for someone ta see ya naked. We are naturists, we should enjoy the person, not the vessel. True, that could help. But you'd have to be willing to come out as a nudist to your friends/family (and the entire world basically) since there's basically NO privacy on facebook anymore.
YNAI Actually does have a FB Group, people just never went to it because they didn't want everyone to know, like you pointed out Storm29, there is very litte real privacy on FB.
