Today is a great day outside, the sun is out the sky is blue and the temperature is touching on 26C. I have a day off and i have many things i want to get done in and around my flat.
I live near the city centre of Edinburgh in a flat which is one of 9 in the building i am in. The building is surrounded by 3 or 4 similar right around the communal carpark. My car is out there and i want to do a few maintenance things to it but when i go out i feel hot and uncomfortable wearing clothes. In an ideal world i would go out there and do a few things in the nude and nobody would bother me. Unfortunately this isn't the case at the moment.
Annoying thing is, i cannot exactly walk around my flat in a state of undress because my flatmates are home. If they were out however i would be in the lounge enjoying the day with the two doors (that lead to the outside, although i am on first floor) would be wide open providing the outdoor breeze i would get if i was outside.
I don't believe there are any clothing optional beaches nearby, if there were i would be there in an instant.
It's time like these i wish i was in Spain or France and had the option of going to beaches or places like this and enjoying the day in the state of undress i choose to do it in.

26°C??? is that really Scotland? In my region, the climate is warm, but the last days have been awful. You are writing that you don't believe that there are CO beaches nearby. I do not know as I have never been to Scotland (unfortunately), but hey - you should get informed! Perhaps there is a possibility! Erik P.S.: referring to nakedscotland.org.uk, there is a beach near Aberlady which is only about 18 miles from Edinburgh... |

The weather has been good so far this summer. About a month ago we had about 2 weeks of non stop sunshine, blue skies and temperatures no lower than 24C. It is rare, however we do get the odd summer now and then where temperatures are quite comfortable. In 2006 some places in Scotland (and even more so in England) were getting into the mid 30's. Like i say though, very rare to have this weather.
Nothing like you likely get in Germany or even the USA/Canada. I know for a fact that it isn't even close to what you get in Australia having experienced the Australian summer just over a year ago.
Weather is supposed to be good tomorrow, so i may be tempted to take a trip to the beach. Thanks foar the link, i really should use Google more.

Hi i'm an irish student and i'm studying in Edinburgh at the minute. Back home i live in the countryside and i work on the farm during the summer, so i don't have much time or money to travel to any beaches. Is it possible to get to any CO beaches near Edinburgh by bus?. Good luck.

Having looked at the link and browsed further there are two just outside Edinburgh. One near Dunbar which is south of Edinburgh, about an hour or so on the bus from city centre (that's a guess, i haven't done it by bus) and there is another somewhere else not far from there.
I don't think there are any official though, just so secluded that you are unlikely to bother anyone.
I considered going to one of them today, other plans got in the way though.

Just to chime in, you're right being in the closet about it sucks. I'm home for the summer and I can only go nude when my parents are gone or sleep. If I walked around nude they would freak out, especially my mom. I told her how at school the showers are just a room with shower heads and we shower together, no biggie. She was at a loss for words that we would be nude around each other even though it's an all boy frat house-if she thought there were girls she would freak, even though I've had the same gf for 2 yrs. It just sucks that whenever they show up or wake up I have to throw pants on. I almost forget sometimes, and I can only imagine the problems it would cause. It just shows how careful you have to be with the information you have.
On a brighter side I'm hoping to hit up some beaches and try to go to at least one resort this summer. So all is good. :9876d

Yeah, it does suck being a closet nudist. As far as going outside, I've got a fabric hammock in my yard that no one can see into if you're laying down in it. Perfect for sunny summer days.  I got it for 20 US dollars. Pretty good deal, I thought. Now if only my yard had a fence... |

Utterly agree about being a closet nudist being bleh. I've been closet nudist 10 years, noone knows cos I normally have clothes on standby even if its just a t-shirt and boxers, my family would either laugh or flip and my friends would probably just think I'm weird, I did tell one friend about it once and he said he did it when he went away but he was a fair bit older than me. I think too many younger people have differing ideas about it all.

It's not so bad for me being a closet Naturist. I just tell my mom I'm going out then head to my local beach. Simple. I love Summer ^^

It is hard, especially with family! As long as you have close mates that you can confide in and that are comfortable with it, then that is a great start! Family will hopefully warm up as time goes on, at least that is my hope!

Yea I wish my family were a little more open minded. I don't think they'd ever open to the idea, nor would they really accept me doing it. |

Its how I feel all the time. Being stuck behind some closet as a nudist stinks big time, you can't let ur family know or they might be on to me and shun me or something. I don't know bout being a nudist in Singapore, its a hard thing to do.
