I've thinking lately about how it is such a big deal to us that we are naturists.  I mean we all seem to have come to the conclusion to join this forum.  But why?  Why is it something that we not only do but feel the desire to talk about?  ( I'm being philosophical here, not accusing us of anything)

In a perfect society (one where nudity is fully accepted) would a website like this even exist?

My guess is that it's because its not practiced by the majority and we have limited people to associate with in our interest.  Any thoughts?

I was recently thinking pretty much the same thing what IS the big deal with nudity?  We were born nude, it is our natural state?

Okay, well; as a future psychologist I've read alot about this subject. As long as there are different people, you want to look for confirmation. You want to see if there are more people with the same thought and experiences. There's are uncertainty in everyone that is looking for a conformation bias to see whether his/her beheavior is accepted and okay to talk about.

There has been interesting research on this topic.

Exactly the point i was thinking when reading the initial thread.

Whilst we all share the same lifestyle we all feel that we need to explore the web to find like minded people in order to confirm the feeling that what we are doing is okay.  I mean this in a deep down psychological way.

Alot of us love the lifestyle where we very infrequently put on any clothing, however there are others who are closet nudists.  For as long as society dictates we should wear clothes while in public then there is always going to be people looking for other people like us to help them believe in their clothes free life.

I understand that what i am typing isn't actually coming out how i really want it to, i mean even i can't understand what i've written.  I know what i mean, and by reading through the previous posts i believe you all do too.

Good question Monkeyfish.

I guess the basic point is that we're here because this isn't something weird or esoteric. Yes there are groups for people interested in weird or esoteric things too, but a majority of groups out there are for people discussing otherwise normal ways of life and their variations. Thus were nudism normalized, I think people would go on talking about it, not only for a sense of affirmation but also just because it's fun to talk about the normal things in life too.
